Dejected!
I beg for a little love
And you deny
I wag my tail
Like your dog on the doorstep,
For acceptance
I lay there on the doormat, never allowed inside your house.
I guard your interests
I bring you the green bills
Every month
All I ask for is love
And you starve me!
Locked inside the cage
I see you
So kind
So thoughtful
So gentle
So caring
But not towards me
I bark in anger
At everyone who is stealing from you
What actually is mine…
In your rage
You whip me
I cry and moan
I Lay on the doormat…
Waiting for you to forget
I wag my tail
As you emerge
Trying to get one look,
A pat on my back
A glimpse of kindness…
But alas!
You remind me
I am just a dog at your doorstep….
My duty is to guard!
