A Drink From The Fountain Of Hippocrene Poem by Alexander Thomas

A Drink From The Fountain Of Hippocrene

Fear not love's sacred essence and bestow thy heart to life,
For sonorous poetry can be found in tears of strife,
Sheltering from thundering storms one feigns to be free,
But fettered to winds of existence is the way to truly be.

The zealous gasps of the soul we should not shun,
Towards our stellar dreams the only place to run,
In heavens ascent do not fall at the divine test,
Joined in faith is the way for us to fly fate's nest.

For a sign with lightning bolt I beseech a prayer,
For the truth to swoop down from high and stare,
Without love in a chimera we would all be lost,
So grasp onto hope with all spirit heedless of the cost.
