On a dreary, weary really long, long road to wind,
Through stark dark down a hole as the mole is blind,
I stumble to nearly clearly but in exhaustion tearily find,
The bright light in the deep, deep depths of my mind.
With a drawl I crawl and haul as the tunnel twists and twirls,
I trudge through slippery sludge down slimy, grimy swirls,
Up against the black wall I stall but I grow tall to white whirls,
To my eyes a drowsy, cloudy destiny so, so slowly unfurls.
In a lazy, hazy dawdling daze I am languidly drawn,
In this gruelling, drooling lame game of chess just a pawn,
Through the maze to all ablaze to amaze a shining new dawn,
From the soft bed of lingering dread I make a gaping yawn.
