A Dubious Life - Poem by Hasmukhlal Amathalallal

I have led dubious life through out
Never knew about falling apart or facing rout
It did not occur to me in simple way
I was in dark for the want of bright ray

I enjoyed in all the aspects
Fame, money and name in all the respects
It was coming from one direction
It was centered on my false action

I knew it was cheating to soul
I involved in all dirty games with foul
I was not sure of its consequences
It was nothing but mastery over sentences

The careful choice of words played the trick
I was playing them with the same stick
It was merely a deception and treachery
Though I was not the master in archery

It was striking in exact spot
The luck was favoring even though I was not allotted with slot
It may be coinciding with favorable wind
I could get everything easily and comfortably find

I was flying high with all sorts of results
Never faced reversal or any kind of insult
I realized its importance in true sense
It had so much value in present tense

I have passed through so much pain and agony
It meant so much to me in terms of fame and money
You are worthless if you do not have or lack
Too much suffering and many things are at stake

I wish no one is passing through such dilemma
It is stage of uncertainty coupled with trauma
A person may be drawn deep with lots of harassment
The whole of sky may befall on him for the moment

I faced such situation with calm posture
Employed all the ways for making it sure
Nothing troubled me in whole of my tenure
I was free from worry and completely reassured

When I sit under roof and give serious thought
So many views surface and eventually are fought
Finally the truth emerges and makes you restless
You think life spent was useless and worthless

It is considered as period for transformation
The golden period for attainment and salvation
If at all good sense prevails to seek solace?
Individual may be ready to leave even palace

He has still the time left in his disposal
He may be battling in mind with very good proposals
“Something worthwhile must be done at the end”
No hatred of any kind and all should be made friends

Think of a nice end that you may be contemplating
All pro and cons may be thought over and equating
Suddenly one though may rule permanently
Is that what I lived is important or is that I am leaving behind instantly?
