A Face Like The Moon (Ghazal) Poem by Shabeeh Haider

A Face Like The Moon (Ghazal)

A FACE LIKE THE MOON (GHAZAL)

A face like the moon, stars twinkling in eyes,
To see you each night, I look at the skies.

You are the two ends of joy and of pain,
You are the warm smiles, you are the cold sighs.

To drive out your thoughts, when sleep does not come,
This heart can't succeed though often it tries.

How long will he sing your name on his lips?
He'll whisper your name the day that he dies.

His life was always a story of grief,
A tale of sorrow and tearful goodbyes.
