As the fading year stares back at us
Our hearts ache from the ominous
News of an acute version of a better imagined year
A fading year that stole many grey hairs and heirs
And drown beautiful and glorious souls
As the fading year stares back at us
It brought back the collapsing fences that sprang up
Between nations of the Single nations
It brought back the knives that severed our bonding ropes
As the fading year stares back at us
We soon began to wave our scared hands
As our teary eyes scan for lurking morbids
We faithfully hope our insipid memories fades out with the tolling bells.
