A First Time Thing Poem by Hebert Logerie

A First Time Thing

There are things that you do once
Your first kiss, your first glance
Your first caress, your first day
Your first touch and your first play.

The first time is unforgettable
The first love is incomparable
When the heart loses its virginity
Under a new level of maturity.

There are words that you utter once
The hymen is gone. This is a new dance
A novel season. You feel unusually different
When you see a butterfly clinging on a plant.

The first time is angelic and innocent
The past is memorable and reverent
That's heaven on earth with memories
Of a lifetime: a spring of berries and cherries.

It is always beautiful and refreshing to go back
To yesterday, to relive your first horseback
Life is made of meadows, valleys, and mountains
Hoping that the Lord will not punish for the past sins.

There are things that you do once
I am telling you now, so you can start a romance.
