A Flickering Light - Poem by Sydney Chappell

Sometimes I feel
I have no friends
We constantly argue
It never ends

Sometimes the hatred
Is locked up inside
From it I run
But I can not hide

Although I’m not in them
It’s still such a mess
From my position
It’s funny I confess

I can’t see how
This friendship will last
Don’t know when it’ll end
But it’s coming too fast

We yell and we shout
My mind’s full of doubt
When will it all end?
What’s life like without friends?

We yell and we bicker
Ex-friends with a flicker
There goes the light of friendship
It’s out. It’s out.
