A Fly In A Mexican Restaurant Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Fly In A Mexican Restaurant

A fly wandered into,
A mexican restaurant.
Hungry and very thirsty.
Clumsily he fell into,
The pico de gallo.
Oh my the heat.
His mouth burning,
He looked around,
For cooling liquids.
So he flew straight,
To the Dos XX,
And plunged right in.
After a few swallows,
And a total soaking,
He emerged a bit borracho.
So not being one,
To go around,
A bit tipsy,
He climbed into,
The menudo bowl.
That got it,
That fixed him up.
So just a bit,
Greasy,
And with his,
Cholesterol level,
A bit elevated,
He staggered across,
The table,
To the flan,
For desert.
There he promptly,
Got stuck.
It so happened,
That Chilo and Chole,
The two house spiders,
Had a reservation at the table.
They were delighted,
With the extra treat,
In the flan.
