A Fool’s Companion Poem by Robert Ruiz

A Fool’s Companion

Time is just a Fool’s companion

Together running

Through life without

Wanting to stop

Without needing to

They touch many people

With thoughtlessness

‘Til the journey almost

at its end seems as a

flash of a falling star

against the black barrenness

of eternity’s night

and attempts to recapture

the brilliance are only clouded glances

of a beautiful display

of Someone’s creativeness.

R. Ruiz  1970
