Robert Ruiz Poems

When I was a child and
dreams had wings that
reached beyond the sun;
...

If All the World’s a King
And I its fool
A fate I’m told is set in stone
Then I indeed am all alone
...

Like the pessimistic fellow
Who is lost within a crowd
Life comings running toward me
hoping I’ll give it a try.
...

Como gotas de lluvia lijera

que caen en la primavera
...

People are a running ‘round

Ships are caught and
...

I sat alone and wondered why

People must grow old and die
...

Whether I shall be as I perceive,

Or live in dreams that Self-deceive
...

Soft the whispered

Breath of Love
...

Penny lain against

A frosty window pane
...

Time is just a Fool’s companion

Together running
...

Much more than
something else that
...

Hold thy noble head high
As a Rose to the sky
Illusions of living
When thou knowest we die
...

If I should die
This summer’s morn
my clothes of age
just newly worn
...

The Best Poem Of Robert Ruiz

When I Was A Child

When I was a child and
dreams had wings that
reached beyond the sun;

When I was a child and
dreams had just begun,

I dreamed of deeds,
of fair young maids and
knights up in the sky
of avenging wrongs, of
singing songs and
never asking, Why?

But with the years,
the dreams of youth
do often die
and the world knowing not
caring not their passing gives not
a single sigh - for days

When I was a child and
dreams had wings that
reached beyond the sun;
When I was a child and
dreams had just begun.
