Bags of cowries travel abroad
Through the back doors
Inheritances our forefathers left us
Mysteriously disappear

A great poem that reflect on the stolen pride of African children. This is great to read. The tears of our sold tomorrow still wail and sober openly.
Notoriously, Africa with its vast mineral resources and potentials has continued to wallow in the throes of economic woes due to kleptocracy. An insightful patriotic piece set aside for honest contemplation. Thanks for sharing Yomi and do remain blessed.
this poem can also talk about our politicians that take what is not theirs and run to foreign countries to invest.
Such an eye opening poem, focuses on the way the endowed country Nigeria lost his dignity to corruption by bad leaders.
A future stolen indeed, beautiful write up by Yomi Oguntoyinbo... This poem has shared light on the wickedness of our so called leaders, their handwork in destroying this great country of ours, their quest for riches has turned them into monsters who care less for the younger and unborn generations.Oh!what a calamity, a future robbed.
Nice piece sir... Our future have been stolen indeed by treacherous leader with greed... Hopelessness and uncertainty for the future generations... May God help us.. Nwachukwu Vivian
The creativity of the poet, Yomi Oguntoyinbo who penned down this literary work The Stolen Future to reflect upon the unfavorable characters of our so-called leaders should be applauded. The poem A Future Stolen tends to reveal the level of corruption by those on seats of power. It torchlights their level of self-centeredness, greediness, selfish desires to mention but a few. Nevertheless, we remain who we are because of their inhumanity. With them, the present is dissatisfactory and a bright future is never certain for the generations yet to come.

''A Stolen Future'' by Yomi is a mirror which vividly displayed how the national treasures in Nigeria is exported to enrich other countries by our politicians. Mr Yomi really did a good work through his intelligent usage of literary terms, because if it was rather written with direct English words, then it may warrant names we know in Nigeria. But before keys fades away from my keyboard, i like to point out another thing and which is, the poem is well articulated and it speaks the condition of our nation Nigeria even to the common man on the street, i discovered that the climax of the poem lacks message of hope for the future and also it lacks sense of posterity for the coming generation, but however, indeed it is a stolen future by the futureless leaders.
The poem, '' A Future Stolen'' by Yomi Oguntoyinbo is an eye opener to how looted funds are being transferred to other countries, leaving the owners to suffer night and day. Funds which were to be used to establish businesses, build companies, which will in turn create job opportunities for Nigerian citizens and make the country worth living are conveyed to better the lives of strangers. While the present generation suffers, future generation uncertain, huge amount are being kept for their unborn generation, What a wicked heart they have got!

The literary work by Yomi Oguntoyinbo A Future Stolen pointed out how our leaders embezzled money all in the name of politics, taking it abroad. How the next generation do not have hope of survival in our country. JUBRIL HAUWA.
Adegoke Taiwo Emmanuel The poem is a reflective piece. It is talking about how our God given resources are being diverted for personal use of our so called leaders instead of being used for the development of the people. It expresses worry about how the collective effort of our founding fathers to have a better Nigeria is being made to be in vain through our present greedy and selfish leaders. It expresses disappointment, grief and hopelessness about the future of our unborn generations.

This piece of poem talks about how our supersized leaders have looted our continent of its resources and take them away that which was left by our forefathers and disappear with then to their land with our treasures to a foreign land to enrich their land and their children and for those who are not yet bone. After stolen of eventually all that was left, our lives now depend on them for survival with nothing to call our own in future. The most torching part for me in this wonderful poem is “we are left with nothing But a future stolen”. The big question now is, can this ‘stolen future’ be recovered or redeemed back?
Such a beautiful piece Carefully illustrated... It tells of how much of our future has been stolen from us in betterment of other lives. How we have been deprived of what's ours to enrich sons of other lands. It appears we are being deprived daily and its so cruel
An interesting poem It carefully explains how we are looted and our hopes for a better and brighter future is taken from us and used in betterment of others lives and places. A very illustrative piece sir Faustina Uwagbale
Thanks Bernard. Please, briefly, what caught your interest in the poem?
A nation, ought to be in wealth and peace of mind, getting torn apart by our insatiable greed.
