A Ghost Now Stands Within Your Life Poem by Patti Masterman

A Ghost Now Stands Within Your Life

Rating: 3.5

A ghost now stands within your life,
You neither move nor step aside,
Perhaps it is a ghost you owe
A favor or a round of ale;
Some dirty secret from the past,
A token left of sinner's hell.

A ghost now stands invisibly
Beside the rest of the family,
And you don't dare to nudge it out,
It's armed with something you can't fight,
Holding remnants of something rare;
A far gone memory of delight.

This one to me is sort of a veiling of ways that used to be and the ghost of those days is a lingering hope that may re-spark and charge the streams that may run a little dry. A soft delight that a shadow doth remain. Jim Troy
