A Grapple A Day Poem by Sean C. Harrison

A Grapple A Day

If we think about the value of life,
Pondering our own mortality:
What it takes to keep it,
Its simple yet not so simple-existing without complications
Excepting the fact that living closest to the earth gets us inching closer to longevity itself;
A principle carrying far indeed.
Yet as we grow older and begin to think
Of bodies depreciating, we all do well to step up the pace-
Exercise, water, good sleep and food. They all do their part.
And if we love life we respect it in all its forms,
Making sure nothing, no one comes to harm.
And introspection-the most powerful tool for staying on track,
Leaving the rest to God. He'll make up for all we lack.
