A Great Poem by Francis Duggan

A Great

In her late seventies or early eighties maybe
She is one i know but often does not see
Her shoulder length wavy hair is silver gray
She must have been a rare beauty on her day
A widowed grandmother who lives on her own
For helping those in need of helping she is one who is known
So kind and compassionate a great person indeed
One can say she is one of quite a rare breed
Down to earth and humble and free of guile
She greets everyone with a beautiful smile
Sometimes i see her walking in the park by the street
And i always do find her as a joy for to meet
One of the compassionate people on her side of the town
Always helping the homeless and the financially down.
