A Grudge In The Mind Poem by Francis Duggan

A Grudge In The Mind

Some easier to get on with than others happens to be so
But few go through life without making a foe
And it is not unusual that a grudge in the mind can escalate
In the one with the grudge to feelings of hate
And feelings of hatred can lead to serious crime
Which sends the offending one to a lengthy spell of prison time
The people who are liked by everyone who knows them to say the least few
And this is not saying anything that is new
There are some in their words who like to drag down
The most popular people in every town
It is pretentious people who only pretend
That everyone wishes for to be their friend
Not everyone you know does look up to you
The one with many friends does have enemies too.
