A Handful Of Love Poem by Rahman Lotif

A Handful Of Love

Even today the smiling sun
Shatters darkness in Eastern sky,

Even this day the sun reclines
In his twilight's pillow in western sky!

Even this day, a fondling hand
Touches you to wipe a tear
Even today, you find a support
To light up hope, without fear!
Even today the blue firmament
Melts down through emotions own eyes

Even today, the Nightingale
Sings out notes amidst its cries!
Even today the warmth of love
Reververates through the bloodstream

Even this day through the touch of lips
He finds her love and she finds him!

Even this day the painful sorrow
Dilutes in true love theme!
Even today at the wink of an eye
The archer finds one's heart of dream!

Even today the full moon night
Raises its eyes in silvery thirst
Spanning the forests, home, courtyard
The open meadows in shiny outburst!

Even today the memories span
The outbursts of childhood games,

Even today, the flowers shed thick
Carpet floors with glorious names!

Even today, the conch shells blow
Along with Azaan chanted out,
Even today, the silence thus
In the Supreme's prayer is truly shattered!

Even today the changing faces
Is a portrait of plus - minus
Even today, I move truly about,
Listlessly in Life's own Focus! ! !
