A Head Turner Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Head Turner

I heard the hoot of an owl at night
and when I heard the sound
I followed the sound and saw his eyes.
They were yellow and round.

I blinked my eyes and looked again
but his eyes had fled.
The reason being though he still was there
he had completely turned his head.

I heard the hoot of the owl once more
and much to my surprise
before it flapped its wings to fly
I saw two yellow eyes.
