A Heart Of A Poet

You can't hurt the heart of a poet
Is a fact you can't alter at all
A heart of a poet knows no hate
We Love and fall and yet we stand tall

We stare at the darkness with total awe
We're the type that dances in stormy rains
In our deepest sorrows, we guffaw
And yes, we often toast to our pains

Laughter is medicine and we're addicts
We giggle at funerals with tears in our eyes
Like cats, We always land on our feets
When we die will rest assured that we'll rise

On the last day to recite our poems
To the heavens, from then will be called Alums
