A Heroine Poem by Doris Cornago

A Heroine

Rating: 5.0

Feet touch the floor beside the bed
Lips form a prayer for guidance
Slowly made my way to the
Kitchen to welcome
Birdsong greets
Eyes meet
Array
Of
Cups
Plates
Spoons
And forks
Clattering in
Meek obeisance
Duty bound to start
Another day again, meals
To serve, microwave prepared
Getting mighty good with gadgets
A heroine in the kitchen, diligence spent

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
If I can write a realistic play on my life, the greater parts of it will be centered in the kitchen, the cast will be made up of the orderly tools I collect to make life easy and clutter free. Some women may shirk the title but I adore being crowned a master chef on my own qualification, a heroine of the kitchen, as everything else pales in comparison. What we do completes us, no matter how trifle or ordinary, just remember to add the ingredients of challenge, pride in accomplishment and fun.

A glitch caused the misalignment nd unnecessary bolding. I m sorry for the jarring though not really my fault. Good morning to all poem lovers and poets.: -)
