A leaf hung on a large mango tree,
A tiny green leaf, looking downwards.
Bright, fresh and youthful green,
The colour of life, prosperity and love,
The time of arrogance and self-centredness.
As seen in the human race- masters of the universe.
Humans are a reared and led by humans,
Who too suffer from weaknesses and imperfections.
They have not been able to abandon
Their artificial, pompous and vain traits.
Their pride in their own power is limitless.
The leaf in its simplicity, gentleness and humility,
Bows before the Lord Almighty,
Accepting meekly its fate, its destiny,
Its share of tempests, battles, defeats and failures,
With a bowed head and thankfulness,
As it feels grateful for the opportunity,
To live a simple life as a leaf in God's world.
