A Job Interview Poem by Jasbir Chatterjee

A Job Interview

Rating: 5.0

A job interview,
As you grow older,
Isn't always
A pleasant experience;
But whatever be the outcome,
It is always a memorable experience;
For like a well-meaning, true friend,
It forces the bitter truth down your throat,
Knocks off your rose-colored spectacles,
Pulls you out of your shallow pond of complacence,
And compels
You to hold on to your best
Before it loses its existence…

A job interview,
As you grow older,
Isn't always
A pleasant experience;
But whatever be the outcome,
It is always a memorable experience;
For like a true well-wisher,
It helps you control your annoyance,
Nurture your patience,
Smile through all those mindless,
Inane questions,
Those silly comments,
On your marital history, your past choices.

Nice portrayal of a job-interview experience when one is in his or her 50s. It may not be a happy occasion but still has its positive points for the interviewee. Awesome work. Thanks. It helps you control your annoyance.... Nurture your patience Smile through all those mindless.... Inane questions
