Regrets at heart gather I do not
Qualms none do I hold dear or distant
For mans duty does not pity
For that neither shall I
Be bold and brave and truthful and steady as granite
Besiege no fears and never let nerves run wild
Grip them with savage ferocity
The same ardent
The same noble
The same valiant pitilessness that life holds you to
All the likes of mans brutal will
The will of lions to hunt and gazelle to flee
The hungry resolve to breathe underwater
With waters of enmity choking you down
Be a man, son
Be that what it may
Everchanging and feral in context
Be the man you know you wish to be
It is he who has no regrets at heart
No qualms to bear distant nor dear
For son, mans duty does not pity
And for that, neither shall you
