A Letter To My Late Daddy Poem by Diane Monte

A Letter To My Late Daddy

Dear Daddy,

How are you?
I am still in pain,
missing you so much, , ,
I wish i could visit you in heaven
even in just one day,
To hug and kiss you
Just like the old time...

I wish i could still
prepare a cup of coffee for you,
While we watch home movies together,
I wish i could still
pare fruits so you may be able to chew it easy,
I wish i could still crack a joke
Even if you couldn't hear it,
I wish i could still hear your simple laughter
When i watch Tom and Jerry show,
I wish i could still comb your hair
And trim your mustache,
I wish i could still buy something you enjoy eating with,
So we can eat together,
I wish you were here who opens the gate for me
When i came home so late in the evening,
I wish i could still bring back the past
But my tired heart is broken.

If i could have a lifetime wish,
I wanted you back home,
Though how i whisper to God everyday
A thousand words can't bring you home,
Nor my tears couldn't build a stairway to heaven...

Yet all are memories in my heart...
Loving you eternity...

Your Daughter,
