The secret smiles
or stolen glances
from across the room
A quiet stroll
from class to class
A touch, a smile, a laugh
Only one of these things
I will need
to get through the day filled with
crowded hallways, stairs, and rooms
they say a little goes a long way
and they're right
a little smile can go a long way for me
When I'm upset, nervous, or full of fear
your smile shines light
into the window of my soul
filling me with love and light
a love to last a lifetime.
