A Losing Battle Poem by Ciera Ivey

A Losing Battle

Fighting my emotions
Isn't easy at times
But I do it anyway
Just to pass by time

They run high (my emotions)
All the way to the sky
And please don't ask me because
I don't know why

I wish I knew how to fix it
This hole inside my chest
And it won't close up
No matter how many times I try my best

The blood runs cold
Through my veins
Cold as ice sometimes
And drives me insane

It's no walk in the park
To feel this way
And even when I go to sleep
I don't wake up to a brand new day
