A Love Song Poem by Rajashree Mohapatra

A Love Song

A song of love

O Love!
Stay a while longer, near me
Before we part let us hold eachother close
and take in the breath of emptiness.

O dear!
Forget the wisps of delicate fear that stalks us,
forget the sweet tear of trysts gone sour,
our hearts sing,
why must we stiffle what is so dear?

Our song of love,
clear as crystal, triumphant,
no tumult in there,
so strum the tune of eternity on the lyre!
Sing the song never sung before!

Our journey is brief,
the ride is hard,
yet we must go,
the cherished land of love awaits,
forgive me Dear if i hurt you ever,

Leave what must lie unresolved,
we have no time past,
only a time future!
