A Lover’s Story: Dream Come True (Dedicated To Ginger Chen And Steven Tsai) 8/8/11 Poem by Peter Silver Love

I woke up in bed, lying still
And took a deep breath,
Stared into the morning sunshine,
And saw it still:
This dream,
The dream I never knew
But finally realizing this very dream would last forever…

It all began,
Yes: like such of the ‘once upon a time’,
It all began
With this inquisitive boy dragging right along,
Stirring up a dust storm at its raging wake,
The path, where all else collided, stopped, glided
For the jolly, old fellow hiding in his own past
Came jumping out, little by little.
As he found what had ignited his own:

There it was,
‘The thousand miles,
The thousand wonders,
The thousand words’,
All of which were indescribable to this:

Hand in hand, they were
Embracing in a lover’s circle;
After, that is, the surprise:
Where Prince Charming proposed,
Swooped down to his Goddess,
– Before she fell, unconscious, yet still with a faint smile
Creeping right upon her soft, red lips –
And broke his last heart
Until she awakened then,
Climbed her lips to his ears and whispered, “I do.”

Alas, for he saw the lover’s story;
As he joined the round of applause,
Wished for a standing ovation,
And joined God’s envious tears;
As…
The faint church bells tolled its melody,
The sun bent the sky to the ocean’s lips,
And there lied, the true lover’s story
Right where the lovers kissed in the lover’s circle,
Creating the perfect remedy for any old soul, crying.

Alas, for what he saw, finally,
Was the most wonderful girl of them all,
The lover’s kiss;
As he then reminisced his golden days
Realizing he left and forgotten the last item on his ‘List’, unchecked,
It was a whole another story…
…But what he saw just then,
Reignited his hope and belief.
Then, running and singing:
‘Always, Always! ’
Right back into reality
Flying toward his love,
And gave his promise, finally;
With vows renewed
Just like the first time,
Just us two,
Just the two of us,
Saying, “I do.”
