A Lover's Paradise Poem by Yocheved Saksenberg

A Lover's Paradise

Guitar chords strumming along to the humming of the bees.
The flowers are blossoming and open to greet the sun.
It is a meadow with long flowing grass and rusting trees.
It is a place where two lovers go to have fun.
They chase, run, jump and leap.
Their souls dance and are full of joy.
Over their feet they stumble and land on top of each other in a heap.
"My word, " the girl thinks, "I am deeply in love with this boy."
Into her eyes he gazes
Because in them lies his world.
The birds chirp as their spirit raises
And around them in festivities, the butterflies swirled.
Together they dance.
Alas, over them has the lover's paradise cast a trance.
