A Lucky Penny Poem by Hebert Logerie

A Lucky Penny

Rating: 5.0

I stumbled upon a lucky penny
Yesterday, after the party.
I hesitated before I picked it up
For many reasons; maybe that's the hope,
For something much bigger to land in my nest.
Later on, I decided to visit an outlet,
To buy some flowers for my princess.
The roses were on sale for twenty bucks;
In my left pocket, in my expensive wallet,
I noticed that I was short of a penny.
The cashier told me that "money is money";
"You cannot take the roses to your honey,
Because you're missing a crucial penny".
Thank God, the lucky cent was in my back pocket,
So I took it out, and was able to complete the sale.
I brought the exquisite roses home to my angel,
Who was very elated. She kissed me and thanked me
For the gift, for honoring her, and making her happy.
A lucky penny may not be worth a lot, but it can easily
Make a positive difference in somebody's life.
The lucky girl, who received the roses, is now my wife.
To me, she is worth more than a sextillion bucks.
