A Meeting With Fear Poem by Payal Priya

A Meeting With Fear

Dear Fear,
Let us meet someday
tete-a-tete.
Let us have a duel
One-on-one,
Final and fair.
I wonder, what garb you will wear?
Of a brawny threatening man
Who wants me to cover
My wrist, my legs
My soul, my brain.
Or the sweet venomous woman
Who was taught to be ladylike in manners
And mean in mind.
Or simply creeping creatures
Tiny, less abominal than few men.
Will you come claded as my nightmares?
Don't worry I won't cancel the plan.
Let's meet up someday.
