A Memory To Cherish And For To Retain Poem by Francis Duggan

A Memory To Cherish And For To Retain

Than the coastal scenery few things seem so fair
The smell of the kelp in the cool evening air
The babble of the waves lapping on to the shore
A sound destined to live forever more
The writers and artists Mother Nature inspire
Of singing her praises could one ever tire
The silver gulls familiar in their mewing call
And the rumble of the big waves as darkness does fall
Above the coastal lands on this evening in May
At the end of a beautiful clear Autumn day
A memory to cherish and for to retain
And in the future days to re-visit again
The mystery of Nature is all around me
In this beautiful place where the land meets the sea.
