A Metatherian Babe Is A Joey

With the number of names
Eutherians have been given
for their babes,
kitten cub kid pup
calf lamb,
one more you'd think
wouldn't matter.

But 'joey' would.
Joey is the babe of all marsupials,
koala roo wallaby wombat,
possum bilby too.

You'll less easily pick
a Metatherian
if you call a baby Eutherian that.
