A Moment To Listen Poem by Bernadeth Tolentino

A Moment To Listen

Rating: 5.0

Life is such a waste,
When there are no fantasies.
Living on with haste
Without dreaming of who we want to be.

If people take a moment
To listen to their silence,
Not bothering to make a comment,
or bringing up some violence.

If only they stop to listen
with nothing but their hearts,
a spark will eventually glisten
and bring them out the dark.

They will find out who they really are,
Those lost in a world of reality.
And slowly fall like a shooting star,
dropping all that formality.

So if you take a moment and a deep breath,
To look at the life you're living now,
Don't hesitate to take a few steps
Towards the life you could live out.
