A Morning Walk Poem by Phil Soar

A Morning Walk

My walk this morning took some time
While I took in the sights and sounds
As dawn began to break, my mind
Was somewhere else and out of bounds
Beyond the borders of my thoughts
My dreams began to drift
I watched as darkness turned to light
And gave my day a lift
Just sounds of distant traffic
As some folk began their day
Yet all I saw was magic
As I wandered on my way
Through fields I strolled and wandered
As the dogs accompanied me
These scenes should not be squandered
I felt alive and free
Although the scene I witnessed
I'd seen so much before
I welcome every sight of it
And want it more and more
So every day I take my time
And wander through the gloom
And I store the sights and sounds I hear
Where memories can bloom
