'I call it as I see it'
the blind man said in jest
as the deaf girl cried
'I heard it too, just like all the rest'
And the soilder wept for a brother in arms
whose arms he no longer wore
and the dead man got up and walked away
to pass this way no more
And a tear dropp fell from heaven
and I swear I heard an angel cry
as the heavenly host
and the holy ghost
gather where the dead men die
For only in the cause of freedom
are we so blindly lead astray
And there we fight in the almighty's sight
to die again today
