A New Day Poem by Matthew Fowler

A New Day

Once born, left to be consumed by the lost and the damned.
He wanders, he got no where else to turn.
The sounds of that summer, still haunt him in this land.
He wants to leave he got much left learn.

Dont cry now, itll be okay.
This place aint as bad as you think.
Youll fit right in son.
Remember, never let your sink.

Why do i feel this way.
Why do i never wanna say.
Am i a hermit.
Why do i keep it concealed.
Why do i throw away the seal.
I guess i gotta learn it.

So dont think, dont say.
Dont you turn your head away.
Its a new day, its a new life.
Its a new love, its a new light.
So dont rest your blame.
Keep your head above the bars, youll see.
Its a new day.

So maybe, maybe ill be fine.
Im resting on the line.
Kee it away away from me
Dont you dare say to me.
That my soul is dying.
My mommas a crying.
And i got now where to turn.
Cause i see now, where to look.
So it dont bother me.
I know im not crook.

I do not fear, the devil or jesus.
Im not scared of dying alone.
But we all gotta lean on someone
I rather be on my own, one in million.

So dont think, dont say.
Dont you turn your head away.
Its a new day, its a new life.
Its a new love, its a new light.
So dont rest your blame.
Keep your head above the bars, youll see.
Its a new day.

No matter how cold the steel.
Dont matter how dark the rain.
No matter how hard the feild
It will be okay.
Its an new day

Keep your heart above youre head.
Your feet before your hands, keep moving.
The darkness will fade, It wont be the same.
Like my momma said.
Its a new day.

So dont think, dont say.
Dont you turn your head away.
Its a new day, its a new life.
Its a new love, its a new light.
So dont rest your blame.
Keep your head above the bars, youll see.
Its a new day.
