A New Democratic South Africa 1994 - Poem by Margaret Kollmer

Blood intermingled with soil and sea
Now the common bond of unity
Triumph over sadness
Courage makes us strong
I’m for you and you’re for me
We’re the people of a land.. now free.

Looking to the future as one we sing
Holding out hands tentatively
Feel the brand new handshake
Three times makes it strong
I’m for you and you’re for me
We’re the people of a land.. now free.

Rhythmically…African style:

Singing as one … speaking as one
Together we stand loving our land
N’kosi sikelele… God bless our land
Together we stand loving our land
N’kosi sikelele, South Af…ri…ca.
