A New View Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A New View

Looking closely…peeling layers
All dimensions appear very still
Sweater clad arms are folded
Eyes peer beyond the windowsill

The sunless sky is gray and bleak
Barren trees stand in silhouette
A chill penetrates through the pane
Images are absorbed into the vignette

A clever thought enters my drowsy brain
Down with the shade… it is tactfully tabled
Loads of rainbow colors take aim with a brush
Joyous strokes are applied …uplifting and able

Iridescent emerald trees… are mood shifting
As an azure sky inspires birds to sing
Linen white clouds are effortlessly drifting
Dazzling flowers are bountiful …it is spring!

The landscape is filled with enchanting delight…
Attaching the rolled window cover… pulling down
A smile returns to my previously parched face
An internal giggle dismisses my melancholy frown
