A New World Beckons Poem by Aneek Chatterjee

A New World Beckons

My boat is ready for you
Feel free to sail through

the blue waters, away from shore
Away from mundanity and more

Away from beloved garden and film show
Will you? I am afraid of hearing a ‘no'

A new world beckons, a lonely island
Green grass, hillocks, poetry in hand

Away from limelight, away from fame
You me and blue sky, we're game

Coconut tree will watch, deer will play with us
You, me, a pair of new Columbus

will engage in fresh discovery, and a new life
Join me, let's go for a different vibe.
