A New Year Resolution (31.12.2019) Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

As the current year is about to fold
And the New Year beckons us from the threshold,
How I wishI could travel through a wormhole
And revisit those golden days old.

This would have enabled me to correct many a wrong
Make use of the opportunities that are long gone,
Helped me to sing a high-spirited song
And welcome the New Year with a ding-a-dong.

But since it is impossible, let us a resolution make
Not to flitter away the chances that at the horizons may break,
And keep our senses well attuned and awake
To score our goalsand minimize our mistakes.
