A Nice Day To Be Walking Poem by Francis Duggan

A Nice Day To Be Walking

A freshening coastal breeze and the white surf waves roar
A nice day to be walking by the southern shore
The silver gulls mewing as above the foreshore they fly
And just a few clouds of grey in the mostly blue sunny sky
Many people out enjoying the sunshine on this coastal Spring day
For the pleasures of Nature one does not have to pay
To walk on the beach on your skin feel the saltwater spray
And smell the kelp and the sea weed on the beach of the bay
Whether inland or by the ocean Nature's beauty to see
A natural beauty that to view is free
In Spring quite a beautiful time of the year
With the warmer weather of the Summer near
Every day on our walks of Nature we learn something new
And one can say of her that her wonders are not of the few.
