A Nightmare Of Strangeness Poem by Shalom Freedman

A Nightmare Of Strangeness

A NIGHTMARE OF STRANGENESS

Everything is beautiful outside-
And yet within a nightmare of strangeness-

All that is not me,
Is so overwhelmingly great-
And I am so small.

How can I be at all,
In this huge empty silence,
Where no one knows or cares for me?
