A Note To The Abuser... - Poem by Ail Ramsay

Why did you have to have me?
Why couldn’t you leave me alone?
All that you needed was will power
Or decency….

If you’re dirty, why sully another?
Why tarnish the good and untouched?
Why tread on the pure snow of innocence
And naivety?

Did it give you a buzz, all that power?
To wield your abuse like a sword
Gashing the hopes and the dreams from me
For fantasy?

I will not allow you to get it all
I’ll hide a bit out of your sight
Your pillaging bloodhound won’t find it.
My legacy…

And I’ll rise again from the ash you leave
Regenerate, rebuild and renew
Eradicate every last trace of you.
My victory.
