A 'Now' That I Always Carry Poem by Mountain Pass

A 'Now' That I Always Carry

Rating: 4.3

One of my life long comforts is that I can always smell and see
A long ago very large beautiful natural bushy Christmas tree.
Asleep on a pallet on the floor in my older sisters home
I felt so warm, cozy and comfort and my child spirit would roam
The many pretty presents for everyone under the tree and the lights
would blink and reflect off the hangings and my heart soar to optimum hights
My best friend (my same age nephew) lay on his pallet close to mine
Our childs eyes taking it all in excited spirits entwine
Santa had already been there is was so obvious to see
We just knew only vast love and total contentment near that special
wonderful magic tree.
And now, many decades later it is that time of year and I still have
that special 'Now'
I mix it in with the special 'Now' in present time
Past loved ones who are gone are welcome to lend their much loved
selves once again and soar the 'no limits' of spiritual climb

How totally wonderful! Our experiences and memories of the past are the building blocks of our present.
