A Painful Loss Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

A Painful Loss

Rating: 5.0

Lowered down the earth heart
Unaware of any stimulus that be
Amidst painful wails and tears

Wish he could be given a second chance
To relive a life cut short at prime
An opportunity to remedy a life not well lived
But just a wish that will receive no grant
Adieu dear Chidi
May the living draw a positive lesson.

In memory of a dear friend, a poem brief enough as the occasion demands and well writ.. Second, I am amazed at the research done by the poet Amir Marandi about the name, Chidi, yes, it is an amazing name indeed.

Why adieu? A loved one is always alive in our heart and always the closest to you. I got interested to see what kind of name it is. I was amazed by its meaning, if I have found it correctly. I found out it means " God exists" in Igbo. Is that correct? That is an amazing name for an amazing person in your life. Thanks for sharing your poem.

I could feel your pain. Ouch! I try to recall, The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the Word of God lives forever.. I have been at funerals of young kids, teens, adults and older people. We were born to die...it is so ironic
