A Playful Dream Sequence Poem by Paul Amrod

A Playful Dream Sequence

Rating: 5.0

Silly little dancer skips from Gemini to Mars
A streaking comet comes to lighten the stars
Wee Willie Winkie tips his hat to the moon
Whether it is full or crescent
it doesn't mean a thing if love is present.
Now visit me and tell me true is it heaven's choir
or a witch's cold brew?
How can we ever find a sweet recluse in the mountains
or amidst a valley's morning dew?
High and mighty jester jumps from Pluto to Earth
and a joyous sound rings through the universe.
Peter Pumpkin whistles a carefree tune
catching all the maidens without notice
bringing all positives in focus.
Nature's symphonic spontaneity performs
an everlasting soothing refrain.
Bringing the robins and blue jays in swarms
hiding from the beasts of prey
who seem to be somewhere on holiday.
Now visit me and tell me true is it heaven's choir
or a witch's cold brew?
How can we ever earn sweet peace in the mountains
or perhaps where an eagle once flew?
The tips of tulips and daffodils
bring the fickle from the fountains
reciting an ode to the evening's chill
to recreate the bubbling waters
nurturing all of Minyas' daughters.
Persephone is here to fulfill
the wonders of the flowers
which are springing forth
in our innocent waking hours.
Now visit me and tell me true is it heaven's choir
or a witch's cold brew?
How can we find a mellow place to unwind?
Amongst the mysteries of the sublime
or lost between the sands of time
with our reflections of another kind?
