A Pleasant February Day Poem by Francis Duggan

A Pleasant February Day

A pleasant February day in Port Fairy of twenty five degrees
With a nice freshening coolness in the ocean breeze
Blowing from Griffith Island where the Moyne River The Pacific does meet
And gently sough on the street trees along Sackville Street
A beautiful evening in the coastal town
To be voted the World's most livable one of it's claims to renown
The Port Fairy Music Festival in March brings visitors from far and wide
To the seaside Town in the Moynecoastal countryside
A beautiful Town with a charm of it's own
For it's scenic views and beautiful beaches Port Fair is well known
Where the Moyne River by Griffith Island to the Pacific slowly winds it's way
It is peaceful and beautiful in Port Fairy today
Where the flute like warbling songs are so pleasant to hear
Of the magpies who sing every day of the year.
