A Poem 4 Liz Poem by Elizabeth U. Adams

A Poem 4 Liz

My ex-boyfriend, now friend, wrote this for me some time ago when I was going through a very bad breakup!

I'm writing this poem in reply
To all the tears you have to cry

After reading everything you had to say
And knowing that things aren't going your way

But I have a few questions I would like to ask you
About all that you've had to go though

Why is it so hard for you to see?
That while you go chasing dead ends
You'll always have a friend in me?

Why can' t you just trust your heart
Make us one unit and never part.

I see you trying so hard to stand tall
Yet why can't you see, that I'll break your fall?

You carry the weight of the world all alone
Why can't you see that you don't have to handle it ALL on your own?

You have so much in you to give
If only you'll allow yourself to live

Maybe I'm a scum
One you'd just like to flick with your thumb

But never forget that with me you're number one
And that can never be undone

I apologize for all the pain you're going through
And you're prolly blaming men, because that the way you do (lol)

But don't never forget that you have me
And you can use me, however it may be

I'll always be right here
To wipe away your every tear

To help you get through whatever the pain
Your trust in me won't be in vain

I believe that you are a one of a kind
A very sweet and very rare find

My dear Liz, my love for you will never part
Because you're very dear to mine own heart.

But thats only one of the reasons I wrote this poem for you
Another is actually to get the message to sink in, too

You have people who love you who want to help you
Those who don't really know what to do

We've watched you go in and come out gasping for air
Yet never acknowledging that we were there

So this poem was to actually help you buy a clue
And to remind you two things that I bet you already knew

Your loved ones (that would be us) are here for you
And the love in my heart is still burning true
