A Poet Needs A Pain Poem by Cheryl Tutaan

It seems that poetry can't be easily understood by everyone,
Only those who have a deep keen mind;
Every stroke of a fingertip,
Imagining thousands of thoughts it finally brings.

Every word and letters have been written carefully,
Musings in mind,
Feelings of the heart.
The joy of happiness,
The pain from sadness.
Started to feel the loneliness,
Shrieking while leaping out of the bed.

Sublime music floats on a scented candlelight,
Raindrops keep on falling,
On a night, ears listen;
Being alone on a cold winter room,
Please do not leave me,
I'm dying inside...

Smoldered feelings come from within,
Nothing compares the sorrow it brings;
The weapons are the ink, the keypad, the brain,
There it flows somewhere, the hidden hurt and pain.

'I can make it through', he whispered,
The horror of my experiences has murdered my senses.
Now I'm telling you, it doesn't last a lifetime,
A poet needs a pain to handle the hard time.
